FAQ

Trusion

Trusion products are designed to be easy to care for and made for lasting performance. Their durable finish helps keep surfaces looking their best, with less time spent on upkeep. Follow the care guidance for your product to help maintain its appearance over time.

Is Trusion fire rated?

Trusion is made from non-combustible aluminium and complies with AS 1530.1 standard. Fire performance can vary depending on the complete installation, so check that your proposed system suits your project with your installer or certifier.

Is Trusion suitable for coastal environments?

Trusion’s powder-coated aluminium is well suited to coastal settings. As with any exterior product, the finish and installation should be selected for the conditions at your site. Follow the product care guidance to help protect its appearance over time.

Is the wood-grain effect printed?

The wood-grain look is created by transferring an Italian film (photographic pattern) into the powder-coated finish using heat and pressure. The pattern becomes part of the coating rather than a separate film applied on top.

What products does Trusion offer?

Trusion offers architectural aluminium products, including battens and cladding for a range of applications.

What colours and finishes are available?

Trusion offers a selection of finishes, including timber-look colours. Available options can vary by product. Contact Trusion to check the current range and ask about custom colour matching, minimum order quantities and lead times.

Can Trusion colour-match?

Custom colour matching may be available for some projects. Contact Trusion to discuss the colour, order quantity and expected lead time.

Is Trusion more expensive than wood?

The upfront cost depends on the product, finish and project requirements. When comparing options, consider the ongoing care each material needs as well as the initial price. Trusion’s aluminium products do not need the painting, staining or oiling associated with many timber surfaces.

How long does Trusion last?

Trusion products are designed for long-term use. Aluminium will not rot or be affected by termites, and it does not require painting, staining or oiling in the way many timber products do. The finish, installation and conditions at the site can all affect how a product performs over time. Contact Trusion for the warranty details that apply to your product.

Does Trusion rust?

Aluminium does not rust like steel. It can still be affected by corrosion in some conditions, so the finish, installation and care guidance are important—particularly in coastal or other demanding environments.

How does Trusion compare with timber for durability and maintenance?

Trusion offers a timber-inspired appearance with the lower upkeep associated with aluminium. It will not rot or be damaged by termites, and it does not need painting, staining or oiling. Performance depends on the product, finish, installation and site conditions.

Is Trusion suitable for humid or moisture-prone areas?

Aluminium does not absorb moisture like timber, so it will not swell or rot in the same way. Suitability depends on the application and installation. Make sure the design allows for any ventilation and drainage the site requires.
